Montblanc Marquise De Pompadour, Patron of Art, 2001,

18k M Nib, 4352/4810

A tribute to the charismatic Marquise De Pompadour, this fine writing instrument is a delight to the senses.  The ornate gold-plated barrel with lacquer inlay and gold-plated hardware provide a luxury reminiscent of the Court of Versailles. The cap, made of fine Meissen porcelain,  adorned with a sepia colored rose finished in gold, is reminiscent of the Marquise de Pompadours love of porcelain.

As a tribute to the age in which she lived, the 18k gold nib is decorated by a delicate engraving  with a line width of one for the Rococo typical, finely crafted engraving.
